Taking the record for the largest cruise ship to dock in New York City, the Norwegian Cruise Line ship, the Breakaway, is a 144,000 ton ship being able to carry over 4,000 passengers. The ship will of course cruise out of the Manhattan terminal which is also used by various other cruise lines such as Carnival, Princess Cruises, Holland, and more. The Breakaway has been confirmed to be taking 7-day cruises that will go from Manhattan to Bermuda. No other cruise specifics were available at the time of the announcement.
Aside from all of the regular accommodations and features within the cruise ship there is also a private section called The Haven which is modeled after luxury boutique hotels. As you can see in a few of the photos below, the Haven is a private area of the ship which includes private pool, lounge, and more. The Haven private area also includes 24-7 butler service, poolside valet, white-tablecloth private dining area, and more.
The Breakaway by Norwegian Cruise Line is set to make its maiden voyage in April 2013 from New York City and will take around 88 cruises over the two years it’s planned to be docked in New York. Check out some photos of the Breakaway below which include a room with a deck, the Maven pool, dining room, and one of the many lounges. There are more photos available on the Norwegian Cruise Line website.
