The annual mega-sale from Steam called the Steam Summer Sale is now here for 2012. The marketplace for PC games has many of the top titles heavily discounted as well as indie PC games and classic games for just a few dollars each. A few of the notable and featured sales include 50% off Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, Skyrim for just $39.99, Left 4 Dead 2 for $9.99, and Mafia 2 for $7 as well as many others. The discounts apply to almost all popular games found on Steam with this sale running through July 22nd. Note: Due to this sale just being announced there is a flood of traffic which is causing Steam to periodically crash or be slower than usual. The activity bar shows around 4 million users online downloading so expect downloads of these games to be slower than usual as well. If you’re downloading a game you may want to go to the settings bar and change where you’re download is coming from such as changing from the United States to a place like Romania where there aren’t as many people using the bandwidth.
The Steam sale for this year is now over. They still have a few discounted games listed as always but the major sales are now over.
The Steam sale was pretty epic this year. I saw huge discounts on Skyrim, BF3, and a few other huge titles. No one can beat Steam when it comes to PC games.
