Crazy Runway Landing At St. Maarten’s Princess Juliana International Airport (VIDEO)

Princess Juliana Airport RunwayThere are many crazy runways out there at rural and mountainside private airports but not many major airport runways can match that of the runway at Princess Juliana International Airport in St. Maarten in the Caribbean. All major US airlines and many major airlines from other countries fly into JIA. The runway being just over 7,000 feet forces the pilots to skim across Maho Beach which makes the amazing videos shot below. If you want to see more videos there are dozens upon dozens of videos shot by tourists and professionals of both the planes landing, as seen below, and also taking off where many tourists who made their way over from the nearby bar go tumbling from the power of the wind from the planes engine on takeoff.

Videos Of Princess Juliana Airport Runway

The runway has become very popular in recent years being featured on various shows and also being included in many major advertisements in which most people just think it’s photoshopped. Even though it looks risky, according to records from the airport there haven’t been any major incidents at the airport on runway 10 but there have been some incidents with tourists who hang onto the fence as the planes take off where they catch a blast from the engines which can throw them backwards. Most videos like the one above are shot from the Sunset Bar and Grill or other small bars that line the beach.
